7 months later.....

So after my last failure in attempt to keep this damn thing up, i'm not going to make any promises to update regularly. Maybe if I do that then I will update more..like reverse psychology...kinda.

So I had a baby! Haha. Three weeks early Carson Timothy came into this world via c-section after 2 1/2 hours of unsuccessful pushing, Turns out his head was cockeyed and there was no chance he was coming out that way. The horror stories of c-sections were running through my head as I signed the consent forms and they wheeled me in to the OR. I thought it was ironic that the music that was playing was "celebrate good times" considering i had been up for 24 hours and EXHAUSTED and totally sedated right about then, i was not wanting to celebrate anything..I was so worried about being the one person that didn't get numb enough to not feel it that i made sure that when the anesthesiologist asked me if it felt like a pinch or pressure, i just went ahead and said pinch a couple extra times, I was NOT chancing that. After I was good and numb they started, i'm not sure how long it took because i was falling asleep on and off the whole time, worrying i would miss my sweet boy's first cry. Tim was upset and frustrated that since he was coming like this he wouldn't be able to cut the cord, which was disappointing to us both.

He was born at 5:48 am on October 20th, 2011 weighing 6 lb 9 oz and 20 inches long. About an hour after i nursed him for the first time his blood sugar was low so they took him away from me down to the NICU to see if they could get a handle on it..they didn't and my sweet boy had to stay in the NICU for 5 days..

He had an NG tube (the tube up his nose) because he wasn't eating enough and they had to feed him through that. they had to put his I.V in three different spots and he kept pulling it out, eventually he pulled this out too, I figured he just pulled it out when he was ready to come home :) My Doctor was amazing and convinced them to let me stay the entire 4 days my insurance would allow since he was still there, going home that night was SO tough on me. The next morning Tim took me back to the hospital so i could hang there all day while he worked and then we got to take him home!

Lots of people came to see him in the hospital, but it was too distracting for him so they couldn't touch him after awhile. So they just got to admire from afar.
